Le Pin: Vineyards

Le Pin sits directly north of Catusseau, one of the larger villages on the Pomerol plateau; the cellars lie at the end of a rather non-descript cul-de-sac off the Rue des Grands Champs, which runs in a north-westerly direction away from the roundabout at the eastern end of the settlement. the vines lie in what is essentially a single block (apart from a few rows on the periphery which include some of the later acquisitions made by Jacques). The block is very roughly rectangular, running on a southwest-northeast axis.

The cul-de-sac defines the northwestern edge of the vineyard; on the other side lie vines which once were the vineyard of Château Guillot, but in 2011 were purchased by the Moueix family and are now incorporated into the vineyard of Château La Fleur-Pétrus. On the opposite side the edge of the vineyard is marked by the course of the Ruisseau du Mauvais Temps, a small stream which is the major drainage route off the plateau. On the other side of the stream, running down to the road between Catusseau and Vieux Château Certan, there are parcels belonging to Vieux Château Certan and Château Petit Village.
